Geography and environment

Malé Zálužie is situated in the north part of district Nitra (20 km). The village lies on both banks of brook Radošinka. The road goes through the village that joins towns Nitra and Piešťany. Malé Zálužie parts: Between the road and the brook, the main road, Talag, Čapáš, Za humnami. In the past three brooks flowed through the village: Kanál, Radošinka, Stoličný potok. In 1963 – 1964 the whole flow Radošinka was regulated.

Climate

The village lies in a mild climatic zone with an average yearly temperature of + 9 °C. The average yearly rainfall is approximately 594 mm. Direction of wind is west and north-west. The warmest month is July and the coldest is January.

Agriculture

Soil is productive in the village. People grow these plants: vegetables, fruits, beet, sugar beet, cereals, corn and legumes. They keep these animals: cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, poultry, rabbits and bees. Production of quality honey is well-known.
